Plastic is more than just industrial waste — it is a silent ledger of progress, a tangible artifact of the Anthropocene, and a residual token of mass consumption.

At POLARiS, we reclaim these fragments of a shifting world and mint them into a new existence. Under our lens, discarded matter becomes light, movement, abstraction — a generative asset in constant evolution.

Our creations are not just digital artworks; they are on-chain experiences, bridging the physical and the digital, materiality and metadata, the ephemeral space of a gallery and the permanence of the blockchain.

But POLARiS is not about singular transformations — we believe in open, decentralized, and replicable art. That’s why, as the project unfolds, we will open-source our methods, our technology, and our creative process, inviting the community to co-create and shape the future of this evolving ecosystem.

PHYGiTAL

The studio , founded in late 2023 in Montpellier - France, brings together a multidisciplinary team with expertise in art, economics, new technologies, science, as well as law, digital innovation, and social and environmental issues. The structure consists of six active members dedicated to visual creation and the development of an ecosystem that bridges the physical world, the digital space, and Web3.

GENERATiVE

Using a technique based on polarized light, the studio generates a continuous flow of moving images with low-tech, repurposed materials originally destined for disposal. By exploring the world of objects through the lens of waste, the studio has developed a high-definition visual creation system that highlights the striking contrast between its raw material — a simple piece of plastic — and its final rendering.

This generative flow unfolds within a hybrid space, bridging the physical world and the digital realm, fostering a new way of activating reality.

INTERACTiVE

The studio offers interactive and immersive experiences that can be integrated not only into events such as concerts or exhibitions but also into live-streamed performances online. Depending on the format, spectators can actively contribute to the generative flow by manipulating repurposed plastic waste collected on-site. They can also influence the movement of the flow by engaging with the live streams, interacting via the platform's chat.

Through their interaction with the POLARiS project as a whole, spectators become instrumental in shaping the artwork — determining its form, movement, and lifespan within the generative flow presented to the public.

COLLECTiBLE

The studio seeks to cultivate a community around the POLARiS project by encouraging engagement through various NFT collections available online. Its ambition is to grant select community members access to the entire creative process with a singular purpose: to integrate it into a programmatic framework, allowing it to exist beyond the spatial and temporal boundaries of the POLARiS studio itself.

The ultimate goal is to replicate this model in multiple locations worldwide, driven by a shared collective momentum.
